What is Title IX?

Every person has the right to pursue an education, and work in education, free from gender discrimination, sexual harassment and violence, and retaliation.

Title IX is a federal civil rights law designed to protect students and employees of colleges and universities from gender discrimination, sexual harassment, and unlawful retaliation.

Under Title IX, the complainant and the respondent are both entitled to due process to ensure the fair and equitable treatment of both parties.
