About Norah
Norah M. Murphy is Senior Counsel at Monaco Cooper Lamme & Carr, PLLC. She represents individuals, businesses, and the professions in business and corporate matters, and litigates construction and labor law, municipal and public sector law, environmental law, personal and premises liability, hospitality and retail liability, insurance defense, and estate matters.
Norah previously served in the role of Senior Counsel as a trial attorney for a national insurance company for 13 years where she had an active trial and appellate practice representing insureds in auto, premises liability, public sector, and construction matters. She was designated the New York Subject Matter Expert in construction utility strike cases and was a frequent presenter at state and national risk management training seminars in the areas of premises liability, labor law, public sector and law enforcement liability. Norah also spent over 20 years as a trial attorney in private practice, was an Assistant Town Attorney for the Town of Guilderland, and an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Albany.
Why Norah?
Norah grew up the seventh of eight children, looking up to her father who was a distinguished local litigation attorney in Albany. She inherited many of his greatest traits which she now hands down to her clients – intellect, preparedness, respect, advocacy.
Norah’s unique combination of highly regarded experience in private practice, as in-house insurance counsel, and as municipal counsel, is advantageous to her clients who seek astute, valuable, and comprehensive representation.
