Attorney Adam H. Cooper secured a no-cause of action verdict on behalf of his client, an Albany-area orthopedic surgeon and his orthopedic group, who were sued for negligence and medical malpractice related to a knee replacement performed on the plaintiff in 2020.
The plaintiff claimed that our surgeon departed from the standard of care in the way he performed the procedure, and that our clients departed from the standard of care in their post-operative care of the plaintiff. As a result of these alleged departures from the standard of care, the plaintiff claimed that she sustained permanent pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, unnecessary medical bills, and unnecessary additional treatment, including the need for a revision knee replacement.
The verdict was reached on September 16, 2024, following a week-long jury trial before the Hon. Justin Corcoran in Albany County Supreme Court. After the testimony of the plaintiff, the defendant surgeon, and experts from both sides, the jury found in favor of Adam’s client, finding no evidence of negligence or medical malpractice.
